I’m a second year PhD student in chemistry, and I work in the research group of Professor Nandini Ananth. I focus on the theoretical side of chemistry, using a simulation technique called Ring Polymer Molecular Dynamics to model electron transfer mechanisms with applications to dye-sensitized solar cells. Outside of research, I love to travel, especially to theme parks, as well as ride rollercoasters. I joined oSTEM to be a part of a fun and welcoming community. As a part of the executive board, I’d like to continue to make sure that all of our members feel that strong sense of community. |

I am a Postdoc in the Hanson lab working on plant organellar RNA editing (this is a fancy mechanism which changes genetic encoded "letters" and corrects what you can call a typo). Originally from Italy, I moved from Berlin, where I was deeply involved in the queer/lesbian/gay community both in- and outside academia. I worked at several queer music festivals, including YO!SISSY in Berlin, meeting the most incredible and inspiring queer artists and drag queens. I feel lucky I got to know oSTEM in my very first few days at Cornell and I am devoted to making a place where everybody will feel welcomed, and can meet new people. They used to call me the party queen, so I am always up for G&Ts, games of pool, drag queen shows and a silly dance on the dance floor. I get very easily bored and I am always around cinemas, art exhibitions and random music concerts to keep my after work time busy. |

I'm a greenhouse grower working in the Cornell University Agricultural Experiment Station (in Ithaca), predominantly caring for research and education plants in Corson-Mudd Hall. I have a strong interest in biological control of plant pests and in public gardens. For fun, I enjoy Dungeons and Dragons, video games, and the outdoors. Being in oSTEM has been a great place for me to find community and spend time with cool people. On the executive board I have been helping plan events for the community, advocating for LGBTQ folks at Cornell, and engaging with the broader oSTEM organization. |
